Family Support Services
VIHIS provides education and support to
families of persons with acquired brain injury to assist them in
the development of skills in decision-making, coping, and advocacy,
beginning at the time of initial injury and
throughout the process of rehabilitation.
Support is focused on a variety of areas,
including continuing and enriching a relationship with a partner after
brain injury; parenting a child with acquired brain injury; changes in
family dynamics; roles after injury; and effective strategies for
carrying on.
Case Management
1-to-1 support is available for family
members, spouses & partners, friends, and others connected to a person
with acquired brain injury.
Support Groups offer an opportunity to
support each other, share information, and know that you aren’t alone.
This Group is for the family, spouses &
partners, and friends of someone with acquired brain injury.
This group meets at VIHIS on the second
Monday of each month at 7pm.
