Family Support Services

VIHIS provides education and support to families of  persons with acquired brain injury to assist them in the development of skills in decision-making, coping, and advocacy, beginning at the time of initial injury and throughout the process of rehabilitation.

Support is focused on a variety of areas, including continuing and enriching a relationship with a partner after brain injury; parenting a child with acquired brain injury; changes in family dynamics; roles after injury; and effective strategies for carrying on.

Case Management

1-to-1 support is available for family members, spouses & partners, friends, and others connected to a person with acquired brain injury.

Family Support Group

Support Groups offer an opportunity to support each other, share information, and know that you aren’t alone. This Group is for the family, spouses & partners, and friends of someone with acquired brain injury.

This group meets at VIHIS on the second Monday of each month at 7pm.
